The Man, the Myth, Potato Chips.

The Man,
Four Eleven Design is the personal studio & brand of Graphics Designer Chris Bock. Located in Gilbert, AZ the studio primarily focuses on branding & identity for businesses of all sizes.
For close to a decade, Chris has been developing and designing experiences that simplify people's lives. Through Four Eleven, he has built a reputation as a skilled technical artist with a keen eye for detail and a talent for understanding his clients' needs. The result is a body of work which demonstrates his ability to create punchy, timeless designs of distinct visual appeal which remain effective at communicating their intended message.
Chris' projects exhibit a wide range of expertise, including branding & identity, print, packaging, and web design. He has worked with clients in a variety of industries including entertainment, hospitality, start-up, non-profit, education and tech.
"Growing up, I remember leaning over mom's shoulder as she worked with what is now an archaic version of Photoshop thinking 'yea, this is cool, this is for me.' From that point forward it was about consuming every bit of design related content I could get my hands on."
For designers, inspiration is all important and Chris is no exception. His mom, Lynette Bock - a brilliant commercial and wedding photographer provided a rich source of feedback for Chris' early works. Industry giants, Jeffrey Rausch and Haley Balzano introduced him to the importance of narrative in design and the inherent marketing opportunities it exhibits. Finally, designers such as Aaron Draplin, Will Patterson and Zimri Mayfield helped Chris carve out his own style and cement a confident workflow.
Most recently, Four Eleven partnered with the City of Mesa's Convention Center and Amphitheatre for a complete marketing and internal collateral overhaul. Adopting a consistent shape language within their documentation while bringing in some fresh ideas, cleared up confusion internally and restored confidence in the marketability of their space. A vertical slice of the project can be viewed here.
On time and on budget, Chris is a man passionate about design. He is committed to staying up-to-date but knows when to chase trends and when to pump the brakes. New challenges and opportunities await him as he continues to grow as a lifelong student of design.
The Myth,
Four Eleven believes in the narrative of the brand, it's inspiration and it's evolution, which when combined create an elevated concept. Getting this aspect right is the most difficult but often most rewarding part of the process and it always starts with a story.
"Often, taking the scattered ideas of a business and organizing them into modernity is not enough. Customers more than ever are looking for a more curated product, something with a narrative they can latch onto."
When Four Eleven takes on a project the first steps are usually to gather the scattered ideas / concepts and transform them into a cohesive narrative. This process sets the tone for the rest of the project and generally helps with (re)discovering or reaffirming a client's / business' identity. Having this bedrock in place is generally overlooked, but can mean the difference in one's understanding of their own brand.
Potato Chips,
When he isn't neck deep in Adobe Photoshop, Chris enjoys trips into nature, photography, reading, game development, and finding new places to enjoy with his friends.
His current obsession is taking pictures inside the game Cyberpunk 2077™ using the game's photo mode.
